Meet Vivek
Vivek Ramaswamy is a husband, father, and proud Cincinnati native who believes deeply in Ohio’s promise. He and his wife of ten years, Dr. Apoorva Ramaswamy (a throat surgeon at Ohio State), are raising their family in greater Columbus, and it’s their love for Ohio that fuels Vivek’s run for governor.
Vivek’s drive to improve Ohio was first shaped by his loving parents, and later by a great 6th grade teacher at his Greater Cincinnati public school who challenged him to aim higher and believe in what he could achieve. That spark stayed with him, empowering him to carve a path that has made him one of the most successful business leaders of his generation.

Vivek has made his mark on the world by challenging the status quo and building companies that changed thousands of American lives for the better, including developing life saving medications for patients. As Governor, he’ll apply that same bold, results-driven approach to help all Ohioans achieve their own version of the American Dream.
Since launching his campaign, Vivek has built one of the broadest coalitions in modern history. From farmers and truckers to business leaders, trade workers and sheriffs, Vivek is uniting Ohioans across party lines. He has personally visited all of Ohio’s 88 counties, listening to hard-working men and women who want to see our state prosper.
