Reinforces Vivek’s commitment to back the blue and crush crime in our cities

COLUMBUS, OH — The Cleveland Police Patrolmen’s Association (CPPA) today announced its endorsement of Vivek Ramaswamy for governor of Ohio, adding to the growing momentum behind his campaign’s law-and-order message to back the blue and crush crime in cities across Ohio.

Expressing the association’s confidence in Vivek’s leadership, CPPA President Andrew Gasiewski said, “Vivek Ramaswamy understands the challenges our members face. He’s committed to fully backing Police and Fire, protecting pensions from cuts, and defending qualified immunity. That’s why we proudly endorse Vivek Ramaswamy for governor.”

Building on the support from 65 county sheriffs from all across Ohio, this latest endorsement demonstrates growing momentum for Vivek’s campaign among Ohio’s law enforcement community.

In response to the endorsement, Vivek emphasized his commitment to law and order, saying, “Our law enforcement officers put their lives on the line every day to keep our communities safe. As governor, I will always back the blue and make sure they have the resources, equipment, and support they need to protect Ohio families.”

Cleveland Police Patrolmen’s Association was founded in 1969 to serve as a “voice of the Patrol Officer.” The association provides mutual aid and protection for the welfare of their members and the betterment of all Patrol Officers, their families and the community.

This endorsement is the latest in a growing list of support for Vivek since the launch of his campaign. After earning President Donald Trump’s endorsement on day one and the Ohio Republican Party’s endorsement in May 2025, Vivek has built a broad coalition that includes conservative lawmakers, community leaders, labor unions, law enforcement, and business leaders from across Ohio. That momentum helped fuel a record-breaking 2025, as the campaign held more than 110 in-state fundraising events and raised $19.8 million — the highest single-year fundraising total in Ohio gubernatorial history — with an average contribution of just $76.
